“A Common Thread” BFA thesis show on display at the Dishman Museum of Fine Art.
These works invite the viewer to actively discover existing animals that are vulnerable to modern consumptive society while awakening a sense of wonder in the existence of such fascinating creatures. Rapid climate changes are occurring globally that threaten the lives
and habitats of these uniquely adapted animals.
The handcrafting of each painted form is a careful process beginning with the creation of a sturdy yet flexible wire armature as a skeleton to which strips of paint are wrapped as an enticing candy-like skin.
